About Devlin:

Devlin Tenney is a Guitarist, Vocalist, Mandolinist, Composer, and Educator currently based out of Brooklyn, NY. When growing up in Litchfield, CT, Devlin picked up the guitar at the age of 6 after being exposed to musical acts such as the Beatles and Elvis Presley by his family. Shortly thereafter, he began taking lessons with a local teacher who, after a few years, would go on to expose him to recordings of jazz legends such as Charlie Parker and Wes Montgomery that would set him on a new musical path and encourage a budding love of jazz. Tenney continued his studies of jazz into high school and earned a number of accolades, the most notable of which include being selected as the guitarist in the 2019 jazz band of America as well as 2 years in in the guitar chair in the Jazz at Lincoln center Youth Orchestra. In 2019, he moved to New York to begin his studies at the New School, from which he graduated in May of 2023. Upon his graduation, he was awarded the Alice and John Coltrane award of excellence, for demonstrating a dedication to creative music making at the highest level and acting as a model artist citizen. He was one of five recipients in his graduating class. He is also an accomplished vocalist and was accepted into the NAfME all national Honor Choir 3 years in a row in high school. In addition to honing his skills as a jazz guitarist in recent years, Tenney has also pursued a wide range of musical projects and interests. His areas of expertise range from folk and bluegrass, to rock and jazz. In recent years, Tenney has lent his skills as a guitarist to several projects around the New York city area, playing at legendary venues such as the Bowery Ballroom, Baby's All Right and the Mercury Lounge among many others. In addition, his playing has also taken him around the country as a touring member of New York city rock band Cab Ellis.
